Hydraulic Presses and moulding machines
Hydraulic presses are extremely powerful machines. Hydraulic presses generate immense force through the application of liquid hydraulic pressure. At our facility at IGS, we employ different types of hydraulic presses for a range of forming, stamping, and assembly operations involved in automotive part production to keep our work stands out.
How Hydraulic Presses Work?
A hydraulic press consists of a sturdy frame housing a hydraulic cylinder with a ram or plunger and the cylinder is filled with a hydraulic fluid which is typically an oil-based liquid. When pressurised, this incompressible fluid transmits the force to the ram, causing it to move with tremendous force.
The amount of force generated depends on the pressure supplied by the hydraulic pump and the surface area of the ram. More so, Hydraulic systems allow for exact control over the force, speed, and stroke length of the ram’s movement.

Types of hydraulic presses commonly used in our operations.
1. Straight-side presses for stamping and blanking operations.
2. Gapped presses for drawing and forming operations.
3. Trim presses for cutting and shearing operations.
4. Hydraulic assembly presses for force-fitting components.
Automotive Manufacturing Uses
Hydraulic presses play a crucial role in different types of metalworking processes. These are involved in producing automotive components. At IGS Engineering, we use these presses for following operations like,
- Stamping body panels (doors, hoods, fenders) from sheet metal.
- Forming and drawing components (exhaust pipes, fuel tanks).
- Punching and blanking operations (electrical connectors, shims).
- Assembly and force-fitting operations (bearings, bushings, gears).
Hydraulic Moulding Machines
Hydraulic moulding, which is also known as rubber moulding or compression moulding, is a process specially used for producing rubber and elastomeric parts. We use the top advanced modern hydraulic moulding machines to manufacture many kinds of sealing, insulation, and vibration-damping components for various vehicles.
These high force abilities of hydraulic presses allow us to work with rough and tough materials like high-strength steels. On the other hand, control over the ram movement ensures dimensional reliability and reduces material waste.
Strict observance of safety protocols, regular maintenance, and skilled operation are extremely important for thrifty and reliable hydraulic press operations in our automotive manufacturing processes.

Innovation in Automotive Manufacturing
Hydraulic moulding is particularly suitable for producing parts with complex geometries from rubber and elastomeric materials. At IGS Engineering, we use this process to manufacture a variety of automotive components like,
- Sealing components (gaskets, O-rings, grommets).
- Vibration insulators and bushings.
- Automotive hoses and belts.
- Weather-stripping components.
- Noise and vibration damping pads.
The ability to mould intricate shapes with excellent dimensional stability and material homogeneity makes hydraulic moulding an ideal choice for producing high performance rubber and elastomeric parts which meet the stringent requirements of the automotive industry.
By continuous monitoring, maintenance, and optimization of the moulding parameters we ensure consistent quality and production efficiency in our hydraulic moulding operations for our working partners.
